Course content
Epidemiology of major infectious diseases. Patterns of spread of disease. Vaccination. Design of epidemiological studies - critical evaluation. Epidemiological surveillance. The incidence of infectious diseases - report EPIDAT. Basic terminology sanitation, hygiene standards and measures. Topics related to general hygiene and communal environment in general - water, air, noise, lighting, etc. Topics specific hygiene - hygiene of children and teenagers hygiene in school environment (hygiene education process, biorhythms, hygiene learning, etc.), food hygiene, hygiene, hygiene, medical devices, radiation hygiene.

Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students should be able to: - know the epidemiology of major infectious diseases, epidemiological trends in the incidence of infection in the Czech Republic and abroad, - define collective immunity and the importance of vaccination in disease prevention, - critically evaluate epidemiological studies and their validity, - apply knowledge of individual components special care for healthy lifestyle - justify compliance with the principles of production and use of everyday objects intended for children and youth, - verify compliance with the Law on Protection of Public Health to model examples.
The task of discipline is to provide students with a set of theoretical knowledge and practical skills that are necessary to know if the current epidemiological and hygiene knowledge. It is also reflected by the development of the institutional system of protection of public health, epidemiology and public health situation in the Czech Republic in comparison with other European countries and the epidemiological and hygiene measures aimed at increasing the resilience of the population.
Prerequisites
The conditions laid down by the lecturer at the beginning of the semester.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Basic knowledge of the problems of biology children. Basic knowledge of the problems of epidemiology. Basic knowledge of hygiene issues.
