Course content
Basic terminology definitions, the IRS, the importance of first aid, safety compliance, examination of the afflicted person. Orientation in accident severity. Emergency resuscitation - provision of airways patency, CPR in adults, children, infants and newborn, ethical aspects of CPR. Unconsciousness quantitative, qualitative impairments of consciousness, faintness, collapse, first aid provision procedure. Shock - types of shock, causes, symptoms, antishock provisions, first aid provision procedure. Bleedings - types of bleeding, symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Wounds - types of wounds and injuries, first aid provision procedure. Poisoning food poisoning, including mushrooms, drug poisoning, alcohol poisoning, carbon monoxide poisoning. Head and brain injuries symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Spine and spinal cord injuries - the mechanisms of injury occurrence, symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Thoracic injuries - types of injuries, symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Injuries to bones and joints - fractures, joint injuries, symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Abdominal and pelvic injuries - types of injuries, symptoms, first aid provision procedure. Injuries caused by heat and cold - burns, sunstroke, heatstroke, hypothermia, frostbites. Acid burns, electric shock injury. Acute conditions in basic disorders acute dyspnoea, cramps, tetany, hypo and hyperglycaemic conditions, nausea, acute diarrhoeas, acute appendicitis.

Learning outcomes

1.Students will be able to organize first aid. 2.Students gain theoretical knowledge in first aid. 3.Students will learn practical skills in poskystování first aid.
Prerequisites
Mastering human biology in the range of grammar study.
