Course content
- Evaluation of nutritional status; - utrition and ontogeny - the specifics of childhood; - Principles of rational nutrition, focusing on childhood; - Meaning of dietary measures in case of illness, focusing on selected diseases of childhood; - Psychosocial, cultural and spiritual context of nutrition; - Education to rational meals.

Learning outcomes
The main objective of the course Physiology of nutrition and nutrition of children (1 and 2) is to obtain a sufficient understanding of the links between nutrition and the vital functions of man and to acquire basic knowledge of the physiology of the digestive tract, in relation to his anatomy. That means first of all to understand the processes of digestion and nutrient absorption. the basic metabolism of singular nutrients (proteins, sugars and fats), vitamins, minerals and water, including the role of the liver, pankreas and kidneys in the metabolism of these substances. The aim is to acquire the the principles of balanced nutrition in a healthy person, the essence of dietary measures in case of illness, including issues of nutritional additives, and also nd learn the basic parameters to evaluate the nutritional status, using anthropometric and clinical methods.
After completing the course, students will: - know the principles of rational nutrition in a healthy person, focusing on childhood; - understand the nature of dietary measures in case of illness, focusing on selected diseases of childhood; - be able to evaluate nutritional status, primarily in children, using basic anthropometric and clinical methods; - know the psychosocial, cultural and spiritual context of nutrition.
Prerequisites
Passing this course KAZ/KUF1Q. Essential knowledge of human anatomy and physiology of the digestive system. Works with PC, internet connection.

Student performance, Written exam

The final written test - min. success 75 %.
