Pediatric gastrointestinal system diseases. Pediatric excretory system diseases. Pediatric endocrine diseases. Pediatric neurological diseases. Diseases of the skin, and visual and auditory systems. Pediatric hematological and oncological diseases. Poisonings and injuries. Paroxysmal disorders in neurology. Acute abdominal events. Acute emergency conditions in childhood. | Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to: - Characterize the particularities and most common health problems of each developmental stage in childhood. - Recognize the most common symptoms of pediatric illnesses. - Understand the principles of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments of childhood diseases. - Demonstrate and apply basic knowledge of the epidemiology of infectious diseases. - Respond appropriately in selected acute conditions in children. - Provide first aid for selected acute conditions in children. |
