Course content
- The issue of addiction in general - Alcohol addiction - Dependence on non-alcohol drug - Problems of other types of human addiction - gambling, addiction to coffee, tea and smoking - Workholismu question, depending on the appearance of computers and the Internet - Depending on who the question - the issue of sects - Prevention of the adverse problems.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
  • Attendace - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 20 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course introduces problems of individuals and groups, related to their addiction to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drugs. It deals with other types of addiction as well, gambling, workaholism, religious sects, etc.. Focus is on prevention of these problems.
After completing the course, students should be able to: - Characterize addictive behavior - Explain the possible causes and risk factors for addiction - Recognize symptoms suggestive of developing addiction - Know how to properly do and where to go in case of a developing or developed depending - Explain effective ways to prevent - Understand the problems of addiction prevention in school settings
Prerequisites
The student has basic knowlidg of thu human biology.

Oral exam, Written exam

PC work, Internet connection, seminar thesis elaboration
