Course content
|
Pain clinic. Pain-service at University Hospital Olomouc. Regional techniques for pain management. Patient-controlled analgesia. Radiofrequency therapy. Complex interdisciplinary collaboration - visit to pain center and other departments involved in the treatment of pain.

Learning outcomes
|
Introduction to basics of acute and chronic pain management on the basis of Evidence-Based medicine and from the multidisciplinary point of view including psychology, physiotherapy, oncology, paediatrics. Introduction to basics of examination and pain assessment with the basics of pharmacotherapy of pain. Introduction to invasive methods of pain management including dealing with acute and perioperative pain. Possibility to complete practical part at department of anaesthetics and resuscitation facilities.
After participation in the course the students are orientated in problems of acute and chronic pain management and are able to use their knowledge in everyday care of patients.

Prerequisites
|
Students ought to have fundamental knowledges of pharmacology, anatomy, patophysiology, neurology, psychology.
