Course content
|
The course deals with selected basic grammatical phenomena, namely the first and second conditional, future time clauses, reported speech in sentences and questions, gerunds and infinitives. The course also includes vocabulary from the field of education, houses, shopping, making nouns from verbs, work. It is also engaged in practicing correct pronunciation of English vowels and consonants and reading words in English phonetic alphabet.

Learning outcomes
|
The language course is aimed at developing, improving and practising skills in speaking, writing, listening and reading.
By the end of the course, the student will have achieved A2/B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference and the European Language Portfolio.

Active knowledge of English.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Mark, Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Systematic Observation of Student, Written exam
- at least 80% attendance of the lessons - active lesson participation, do all homework in time and fulfilment of all other tasks, specified at the beginning of the semester - pass the credit test (the passing line for the test is 70%), textbook: English File Intermediate, 3rd Edition, lessons 7 - 8.
