Introduction into literary theory The concept of literature Literary genres and styles The structure of a literary text The language of a literary text Tropes and figures Narrative genres Elementary terms for the analysis of poetry, fiction and drama

Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
After completing the course students will be able to: - understand literary texts in English, - define theoretical approaches to the interpretation of literary texts, - apply theoretical approaches to the analysis of a literary text, - assess the quality of a literary text based on their theoretical knowledge, - use appropriate language when interpreting literary texts, - analyse and evaluate the quality of a literary text in a discussion, an essay or a review.
