Learning outcomes
|
Students should be able to communicate in the field of midwifery, use correctly the terms and phrases. The aim is to further develop language competencies within the European framework of referebce for languages A2 (B1), to practise grammar (especially language of technical and scientific texts). Students should be able to study English texts, fully comprehend them and be able to translate the texts into Czech. Language competencies focus on the effective communication with a patient, client, their family, colleagues and other medical staff.
Competencies acquired: - ability to describe and explain concepts related to body systems, organs, physiology and illness; ability to use specialized vocabulary (language used in surgery, hospital, during patients´ examination, taking the records (history), medical instruments and equipment); ability to use the language in communication with patients, ability to read and comprehend scientific texts, grammar typical of scientific and technical texts).
