Course content
I.Block Definition of the subject of ethics. Philosophical - historical roots of nursing ethics. Sources of Nursing Ethics. II.Block Code and Ethical Principles. Rights and obligations. III.Block Ethical problems and their solutions. Ethical questions and dilemmas. IV.Block Large and small ethical topics V.Block Informed consent and obligatory confidentiality VI.Block Ethical issues related to the origin of life VII.Block Palliative care, death, dying and euthanasia.

Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The course focuses on ethical issues of performing non-medical health professions. It introduces the integration of ethical principles into ethical codes in health care and touches on ethical dilemmas in the behavior of health professionals towards clients / patients. Students get acquainted with ethical principles, with urgent questions in the ethics of non-medical healthcare professions and with the values used to address them and generally large and small ethical issues. It also focuses on compulsory silence and informed consent.
Studens will acquire knowlege of nursing ethics and its penetrating to the field of nursing and they will gain the ability of independent moral thinking.
Prerequisites
Content the discipline is ethical issues of nursing profession, introduction to the integration of ethical principles to ethical codices in health care and it covers ethical dilemmas of health care professionals´ behavior to their clients/patients. Introduced to ethical principles, to acute issues of nursing ethics and to values used for their solution., knowlege of nursing ethics and its penetrating to the field of nursing - general nurse and they will gain the ability of independent moral thinking. Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Attendance at lessons (90%). Continuous active solution of assigned tasks. (meeting 80% of the tasks solved in the lessons or seminar work corresponding to the topics of the unfulfilled task). Exam.
