Obsah předmětu
- Introduction to physiological adaptation to physical activity and its relevance for patients in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. Discussion of exercise tolerance and basic principles of exercise response. - Clinical aspects of physical activity prescription in patients with cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, including the use of questionnaires assessing physical activity and patient-reported outcomes. - Practical approaches to aerobic exercise prescription and monitoring of exercise intensity in clinical settings. - Exercise training in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, including aerobic and resistance training and their application in different patient groups. - Clinical use of cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) in the assessment of exercise capacity and rehabilitation planning. Discussion of selected cardiovascular conditions such as obesity, atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease and chronic heart failure. - Rehabilitation considerations in peripheral artery disease and diabetes mellitus, including the use of selected clinical questionnaires and patient assessment tools. - Spiroergometry and basic functional assessment of lung function in relation to exercise tolerance. - Selected ventilatory disorders, particularly restrictive and obstructive patterns, and their relevance for exercise limitation in cardiopulmonary patients. - Respiratory function during exercise and its role in assessment and management within cardiopulmonary rehabilitation. - The course also includes practical sessions at the Department of Sports Medicine and Cardiovascular Rehabilitation, where students observe and experience aerobic and resistance training, relaxation techniques, CPET examination, and group exercise in cardiovascular rehabilitation.

The aim of the course is to introduce the principles of exercise prescription in cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and the use of functional diagnostics in the assessment and management of patients with cardiovascular, metabolic and ventilatory disorders.

Attendance and Participation: - Students are expected to actively participate in classes, respond to short in-class questions, and complete assigned tasks. Attendance is mandatory for all course sessions. Absences are permitted only for serious reasons, must be properly excused, and must be compensated according to the instructor's instructions. Credit Requirements: - Attendance and preparation of an individual assignment focused on physiotherapy-related questionnaires and outcome measures relevant to a selected cardiovascular diagnosis. The assignment must be presented during the course. Examination: - At the end of the semester, students take a multiple-choice theoretical test covering the course content. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass.
