Course content
Students learn about the basic sources of information on drugs used in medical practice. General pharmacology: students become familiar with the principles of the effects of drugs on the human organism. Special pharmacology: students are provided with an overview of individual groups of drugs and their adverse effects, with a special focus on drugs affecting the musculoskeletal system, such as centrally acting muscle relaxants, analgesics, antiphlogistics, antirheumatics and drug forms applied locally in therapeutic rehabilitation, drugs with potential risk when therapeutic rehabilitation is performed (drug allergy or toxicity manifested on a patient's skin).

Learning outcomes
The student will gain knowledge about the basic sources of information on drugs used in medical practice. General pharmacology: students become familiar with the principles of the effects of drugs on the human organism. Special pharmacology: students will be familiarise with an overview of individual groups of drugs and their adverse effects, with a special focus on drugs affecting the musculoskeletal system, such as centrally acting muscle relaxants, analgesics, antiphlogistics, antirheumatics and drug forms applied locally in therapeutic rehabilitation, drugs with potential risk when therapeutic rehabilitation is performed (drug allergy or toxicity manifested on a patient's skin).
Students will be familiar with the main groups of drugs affecting the function of the patients' musculoskeletal system and apply this information in rehabilitation practice.
Prerequisites
Completion all of prescribed exams.
BIO/RA011 and HIE/RA011 and LBF/RB011 and OPD/RB011 and NAN/RB011

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Active participation in lectures.
