Course content
|
History and development of philosophy of science in the 20th century (neopositivists, Popper, Kuhn, Lakatos, Laudan, Feyerabend). Collecting scientific information and its resources at Faculty of Science PU, style and structure of scientific writing, citation styles, oral presentation and scientific project. Furthermore, they will learn the basic skills in scientific writing, presentation of scientific results and working out projects for scientific research.

Students acquire an overview of philosophical opinions on strategies used by scientists when describing and explaining the external world.They learn the basic rules for writing the scientific text. At the end of the course they propose and defend the project of bachelors thesis.

Seminar Work
Student has to work out and successfully defend his/her own scientific project to demonstrate that they mastered scientific approaches.
