The following topics will be covered: - International organizations and their role in addressing global priorities in population health care (World Health Organization / WHO, European Union and European Commission / EU and EC, independent EU agencies ? ECDC, EMA, EEA etc.) - UN Agenda 2030 - Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with an emphasis on Goal No. 3 - "One Health" approach to population health - Strengthening health systems with an emphasis on preparedness and response to the risks of epidemics, pandemics and other cross-border threats to human health - International Health Regulation (International Health Regulation/IHR, 2005) - Decision No. 1082/2013/EC of the European Parliament and the Council on serious cross-border threats and repealing Decision No. 2119/98/EC - Monitoring of infectious diseases at global, European and national level - Research in the area of global priorities in public health - Application of international recommendations in the field of global health in the Czech Republic

The task of this course is an interactive discussion of the most important global priorities in the field of public health according to the WHO. Students will learn about the priorities of global and European health policies and their implementation in the Czech Republic as an integral part of implementation of the Strategic framework Health 2030. The discussion will emphasize the importance of interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral cooperation in solving priorities wirh a special focus on health protection and health promotion. The aim of this course is to gain an overview of global priorities in the field of health protection and health promotion as well as to actively discuss their implementation into health protection and promotion programs in the Czech Republic. Interactive seminars with active participation of all students. Presentation of the chosen global priority with an emphasis on health protection and/or health promotion in the range of 10-15 slides (PowePoint Presentation) - presentation at the colloquium in the range of 5 minutes, followed by a 5-minute discussion.
