Výstupy z učení
Regardless of their future careers, students are likely to be expected to communicate ideas clearly and confidently in academic, professional, and public settings. Effective public speaking requires more than well-researched contentit also depends on clear organisation, audience awareness, engaging delivery, and the ability to respond spontaneously to different speaking situations. This course provides students with practical training in preparing and delivering effective presentations while developing broader oral communication skills. Students will learn how to research and organise information, structure presentations, design effective visual aids, and adapt their message to different audiences and purposes. Through a variety of interactive activitiesincluding communication games, improvisation exercises, impromptu speaking, and storytellingthey will build confidence, improve fluency, and develop the ability to think and speak effectively on the spot. Throughout the semester, students will practise a range of speaking formats, including storytelling, informative, persuasive, academic, and professional presentations. They will also learn techniques for managing speech anxiety, using verbal and non-verbal communication effectively, and engaging audiences in different contexts. Regular peer and instructor feedback will support students' development as reflective and confident speakers. By the end of the course, students will have developed a practical toolkit of public speaking and communication skills that will prepare them for presentations, discussions, interviews, conferences, and other speaking situations they may encounter during their studies and future careers.
