Learning outcomes
The main objective in the first semester of the course is to teach the basics of phonetics, grammar and skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing). The course is aimed at students who have no previous experience with Russian. During the whole course (RJ1-RJ4) they will be working with the coursebook Ruština pro samouky a věčné začátečníky (authors Yulia Mamonova and Adam Janek). A digital version of this textbook will be available on Moodle. In the first semester, we'll get through the first three lessons.
After passing the course students will be able to use the Russian alphabet, basic pronunciation, grammar (personal pronouns, verbs to be and to have in Russian) and vocabulary (Units 1-3). At the end of the whole course (RJ1-RJ4) they will be able to prove that their language skills are at the A2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
This course does not require any previous knowledge of Russian. It is not suitable for native speakers of Russian and for students who use Russian for communication.
