Course content
Lemcke, Ch. - Rohrmann, L. - Scherling, T. Berliner Platz 2 NEU. Deutsch im Alltag. Lehr- und Arbeitsbuch. München: Klett-Langenscheidt, 2013. (units 13-15) Study materials in the Moodle system (available to students enrolled in the course).

Learning outcomes
The main objective in the first semester of the course is the consolidation of skills (grammar, vocabulary, listening, speaking, reading, writing) students have acquired before attending this course. Students must be at least on level A2 to be able to attend this course. They will be working with the Berliner Platz 2 NEU coursebook. In the first semester, they will do the first three units. Thursday course: The first semester of a four-semester course in German language for students of "The History of Art and the Theory of Art" is aimed at simultaneous development of general and specialized language. The specialized part involves working with various kinds of specialized texts and acquisition of related vocabulary.
After passing the course students will be able to use the grammar and vocabulary from the first three units (13 - 15) of the coursebook well. At the end of the whole course (NJ1-NJ4) they will be able to prove that their language skills are at the B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
German language on level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference. This includes all the language skills, i. e. reading, listening, writing and speaking. Students must also have grammar and vocabulary skills on the required level.
