Course content
The course is methodically focused on gaining confidence and agility in foreign language communication, especially through targeted activation of recent speech skills. All activities in the conversation course help to develop oral communication skills: discussion and techniques of asking questions Training of strategies for vocabulary increasing based on written and spoken text Training of strategies for communication based on written and spoken text Themes for discussions will be communicated after the beginning of the course

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The communication course is designed to develop and improve oral communication skills and competencies in German as a foreign language. We start out at the level B1+ of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) The topics of the course will be selected together during the first session to assure the needs of the students are met and the areas of discussion are relevant to them. Topics could be: current events, environmental issues, culture and art, common living arangements etc. Recommended for students who plan to study abroad (in a German speaking country) and everyone who wants to work on their oral communication skills. NOTE: This is a one-semester course. There is no examination at the end of this course

Prerequisites
Recommended knowledge of German for this course as defined by the Common European Framework(CEFR) - level B1 (or higher) CEFR scale online: http://europassd.cedefop.europa.eu/LanguageSelfAssessmentGrid/en -not for beginners -without relation to any field of study -facultative course only!

Input level B1 of CEFR - motivated student - interested in the topics for discussions - contributing to the course discussions - doing homework - cooperating with other students - regular attendance - max. two absences allowed
