Course content
Focus primarily on communication in the English language in the medical environment. Practicing communication skills through dialogues, group discussions or skits/model situations. Emphasis will be placed not only on doctor-patient communication, but also on communication with the patient's relatives and colleagues. Themes: introduction, history taking and patient examination, explaining diagnoses and treatments in a clear manner, providing advice on prevention, how to be empathetic to a patient, conveying adverse news, communicating with patients with special needs and with the patient's relatives, discharging a patient, effective communication in the workplace, dealing with crisis situations, presentation of research findings relevant to practice, practicing model situations.

Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Projection (static, dynamic), Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Improving communication skills in English in medical practice. Gaining confidence when communicating with patients or colleagues in English. Acquiring the ability to talk about complex and sensitive topics in a foreign language. Using and applying professional English.
Students will be prepared to communicate in English in the medical environment.
Prerequisites
Secondary-education level of English - B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Dialog, Systematic Observation of Student

Active participation in seminars. Regular attendance. Successful completion of the credit.
