Course content

The theoretical portion of the course begins with a description of vascular access routes for dialysis. The first part is dedicated to autologous vascular access with an emphasis on anatomical correlations. The second part is dedicated to vascular access using prostheses. Both parts conclude with an explanation of complications and treatment possibilities. The theoretical portion is followed by a practical portion where students attempt to surgically introduce a vascular anastomosis.
