Course content
|
Recent problematic of the environment: air, water, soil. Methods in severe substances monitoring. Delay impact of xenobiotics. The highest allowed concentrations. Biologic monitoring methods on environment pollution and human exposition. Bio-indicators and biomarkers. Air pollution and the human health. Health risks from the water and waste. Sources and ways of environment pollution by toxic metals. Ionising radiation. Health risks of ionising radiation and protection against it. Problematic of the noise and vibrations. Sanitarily important soil characteristics. Biologic and chemical risks from the soil and water. Preventive actions.

Main problematic of communal hygiene.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - Apply experience from the lecture in practical tasks. - Describe impact of the environment on human health and wellness. - Recall new laws and rules in commune hygiene. - Define influence of heavy metals, PAU and other toxic matters on human helath. - Define possible preventive actions in delimitations of harmful influence of the environment.

The course builds on other courses in previous grades (physiology, toxicology).

exam: knowledge in extent of the lectures and literature credit: 100% attendance, written test, 80% correctly answered questions
