Course content
Genetic information and mutagenesis, inheritance in multicellular organisms, mendelian and non-mendelian inheritance, gonosomal inheritance, gene linkage, inborn chromosomal abnormalities, molecular basis of selected disorders, genetic prognosis, biology of immune system, genetics of immunity, population genetics, stem cells, viruses.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Laboratory Work
Learning outcomes
The subject advances the subject matter of secondary school genetics and extends the students' knowledge of genetics with special attention to human genetics. The seminars are designed to teach students how to use theoretical genetics in clinical medicine.
The subject allows the students to use their theoretical knowledge in genetics for studying human diseases.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biology corresponding to the 4-year grammar school level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam, Written exam, Dialog, Seminar Work

The attendance of obligatory practicals and seminars in regular or in substitute terms; passed tests; written protocols based on the seminar labwork. Semester credit. Written and oral examination after the second semester of study. The content of lectures is a part of the exam requirements. The exam consists of computer test including questions from fundamental recommended literature and theoretic oral exam.
