Course content
The aim of the exam is to demonstrate language skills in reading comprehension, grammar and vocabulary at the JLPT N2 (B2-C1 CEFR) level and ability to communicate about general topics as well as the field of study. The exam: 1) Self-introduction: study abroad, experience with using Japanese, own publications etc. plus responses to questions by the examiners (5 minutes) 2) PhD project presentation in Japanese (max. 15 minutes - 10 minutes presentation, 5 minutes discussion). - introduction of the PhD thesis - objectives, methods etc. (max 10 slides) - discussion, responses to the questions by the examiners concerning the presentation and/or PhD thesis Written Papers (to be submitted by the student at least 10 working days before the oral examination): 1) Structured CV 2) Slides for the PhD project presentation, limited to 10 slides (including introduction and conclusion); 3) A professional article related to the dissertation and/or field of study (10-30 pages).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the exam is to demonstrate Japanese language skills at the JLPT N2 Level (CEFR B2-C1). In addition to general language proficiency, the student has to demonstrate their language skills in the field of their study/research (linguistic, literary, social studies, etc.)
The student has demonstrated the ability to communicate in Japanese at the JLPT N2 (CEFR B2-C1) about general topics as well as the field of study.
Prerequisites
Japanese language proficiency at JLPT N2 (CEFR B2-C1). The student is expected to be able to present their PhD thesis (soft skills).

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Written Papers (to be submitted by the student at least 10 working days before the oral examination): 1) Structured CV (in Japanese and in Czech/English) 2) Slides for the PhD project presentation, limited to 10 slides (including introduction and conclusion); 3) A professional article / academic text related to the dissertation and/or field of study (10-30 pages, orginially written in Japanese), including a complete bibliographic citation.
