Course content
The course focuses on the theoretical and especially practical difficulties of managing bibliographic and library processing of Chinese documents with an emphasis on both the issue of a formal process: chinese characters, various transcription, the issue of writing names, so the issue of classification and sorting of Chinese books, newspapers and other materials. The course takes place in the winter and summer semesters. This is a two-hour seminar in total four credits. The credit for first and second semester is awarded for theoretical and practical management of bibliographic and library skills with a focus on electronic processing and attention to the specifics of the Chinese language.

Prerequisites
The course is designed for students of bachelor study CHINESE PHILOLOGY.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Basic knowledge of Chinese, diligence and interest in the practice in the library. Credit requirements: Library Service in the Chinese Department Library (1x per week 1.5 hours) - borrowing and cataloging books, short reviews of available books (2 pieces per week) for presenting on department facebook, review on one book published after 2007
