Key learning outcomes The study programme was designed on the basis of an analysis of the development of social problems and the needs of practice. It responds to the demand of humanitarian organizations for special and focused training of humanitarian workers, the demand of institutions providing assistance to minority groups, migrants or immigrants and the Concept of Foreign Development Assistance of the Czech Republic. The three-year study programme consists of courses of common profiling basis, supporting courses and compulsory optional blocks. A substantial part of the study consists of practical training. It is included in all years of study, with a continuous twelve-week internship in the winter of the third year, at least the greater part of which each student must complete abroad. Great attention is paid to the teaching of foreign languages and to creating opportunities for meetings with professionals working in the field. The content of the curriculum conforms to the minimum standards of social work education and includes core content in international humanitarian assistance education inspired by the Network on Humanitarian Assistance (NOHA). The school is a full member of the Association of Social Work Educators. The study program is interdisciplinary in nature. The different disciplines integrate their specific contents into the framework of theoretical and practical social and humanitarian work. In addition to teaching through lectures, seminars and exercises, it includes non-traditional teaching activities: stress training, psychosocial training, training in psychological first aid, etc. Students can take advantage of a wide range of optional courses. Their content is related to the needs of future employment.
