Course content
The focus will be on learning pronunciation, vocabulary and collocations in communicative situations using real-world topics. Students will learn how to structure a talk and how to provide persuasive arguments in support of a viewpoint. The students will learn about the following real-life conversation situations: Bumping into people Talking about yourself Role-playing a job interview Discussing personal questions Giving financial advice Being sceptical about some viewpoint. We will cover the following topics: The negatives and positives of tourism Skills needed for work in the future Does money make you happy?

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to help students communicate effectively, fluently and confidently in English at an Upper-Intermediate (B2) to Advanced (C1) level.
Students will communicate more fluently, effectively and confidently in English. Students will learn vocabulary and collocations connected with the topics taught. Students will learn how to structure an argument or presentation. Students will learn the following aspects: Signal additional aspects Express advantages Define terms Refer to studies Conclusions
Prerequisites
There are no pre-requisites. Students should good enough in English up to B1 or B2.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Written exam

Students must do set exercises. Students must do oral presentations.
