Course content
Language lessons devoted to the following topics and the relevant language skills: Studies (University studies - organising studies, academic environment, elementary communication) Working Life (Work environment, professional development, forms of employment) Fact or Fiction? (Validity of information, media - hoaxes, scams, interpretation and questioning of information)

Learning outcomes
The objective of VCJ/A2 is to develop language skills of general English at level B1+ of the Common European Framework for Languages. The course focuses on building vocabulary, re-enforcing grammar, developing reading and listening with understanding and promoting speaking. It works primarily with common English, i.e. the language used in everyday situations by native speakers.
Acquisition of language knowledge on the B1+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
Prerequisites
Minimum language knowledge on the B1 level according to the European Framework of Reference.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

Students are required to attend classes, may be absent twice per semester, and must participate actively. They must prepare for the classes as required by their teachers. They must successfully pass the credit test (min. 70%). The result is part of the final evaluation of the VCJ/A2 exam. Students are required to pass the oral exam. Part-time students do not attend classes on a regular basis. They prepare for the credit test themselves. In case of need, please contact your tutor.
