Course content

Internal and external photoeffect, material properties. PIN and avalanche photodiodes, regimes of operation. Photomultipliers. Detector noises. CCD camera. Detectors of fast processes. Streak camera. Autocorrelation methods. Complete diagnostics of ultrashort optical pulses. Photocount statitics. Photodetection formula. Single-photon-sensitive detectors. Photon-number-resolving detectors. Image intesifiers. Intensified CCD camera. CCD camera with electron amplification. Multiplexed detectors with delay lines. Special detection structures for quantum optics. Application of photon pairs for the measurement of quantum detection efficiency and production of nonclassical states of light.
