Course content
Impact of humans on the environment throughout history. Evolution of environmental management since the 1960s. Key conferences on the environment and sustainable development. The Millennium Development Goals. Environmental aspects of sustainable development. Sectoral aspects of sustainable development (energy, transport, agriculture etc.). Indicators of sustainable development. International aspects of sustainable development, prospects in developing countries.

The course introduces students to the environmental aspects of sustainable development. Attention will be paid primarily to the quality of the environment in developed countries and present environmental problems in developing countries.
