Course content
Basic principles and scientific biological basis for nature conservation. Biodiversity, its threats and conservation. Protection of habitats, species and populations. Territorial nature conservation in the Czech Republic and worldwide. The most important national parks of Europe and other continents and the main objects of their protection.

Learning outcomes
Understanding of basic principles, terminology and scientific biological background relevant to nature conservation. Orientation in territorial nature conservation in the Czech Republic and in the world.

Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biology and ecology.
