Course content
|
The subject is dedicated to the fundamentals of demograpy as a field of science. The subject and object of study of the discipline are introduced, followed by a description of the historical development of demography. Students will get acquainted with a comprehensive set of knowledge covering the following topics: relevant methods of demographic research, types of demographic data and their usability, population dynamics (natality, fertility, mortality, migration) and basic methods of its assessment, the basics of population projections.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Mark, Oral exam, Written exam
Tutorial credit: regular attendance at the tutorial, active approach in the class, correct elaboration of all assignments, review of a scientific demographic paper. Examination: passing a written test.
