Course content
Light microscopy. Probing chemical composition of cell. Cell separation and cell cultures. Membranes, their compostion and characteristics. Cell transport. Osmotic features of cell. Animal cell. Plant cell. Cytochemical localization of cell components. Isolation of cells and cell counting. Cell viability assays. Cytotoxicity.

Learning outcomes
To learn basic methods used in cell biology.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Systematic Observation of Student

Full participation at the practicals is required (maximum two absences may be tolerated for serious reasons and the experiments may be conducted in a different class as decided by the teacher); all experimental tasks must be completed, reports submited and approved for each task. The class is concluded with a final written test.
