Course content
The subject follows and extends a basic course on systematics of cyanobacteria and algae. It is focused on students of biology and accents use of knowledge in practice. The important groups of cyanobacteria and algae will be presented (e.g. water-bloom cyanobacteria, planktonic algae). Within 12 weeks students acquire knowledge on cyanobacteria, diatoms and green algae. They will able to recognize important genera and species and use taxonomic and key books.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on systematics of important groups of cyanobacteria and algae, especially on the genus and species level.
Student should be able to (after attending the course): - use taxonomic literature and key books - apply the knowledge he/she obtained during the study for identification of cyanobacteria and algae from field samples - evaluate morphological variability of species

Oral exam, Seminar Work

Seminary paper on systematics of the selected genus. Oral exam - knowledges from the lectures + determination of representatives according photography
