| 
        Historical development of crystallography - X-ray sources and properties. X-ray detection. - Preparation, classification and properties of crystals - Basic definitions and concepts of crystallography (Bravais cells, crystallographic systems, reciprocal lattice, spatial groups, X-ray interaction with matter and diffraction, Laue and Bragg equations, X-ray diffraction on crystals, structural factor) - X-ray diffraction experiment on single crystals, rotation method, determination of lattice parameters, collection of diffraction data, data reduction, methods of solving crystal structure. - X-ray diffraction on polycrystalline materials, qualitative and quantitative analysis - visualization and interpretation of crystal structures, analysis of inter-molecular interactions (hydrogen and halogen bonding)
