Course content
1. The environmental protection. The role of law in the environmental protection. 2. Principles of the environmental law. 3. Constitutional foundations of the environmental law. 4. Instruments of the environmental protection. 5. Economic instruments of the environmental protection. 6. The right to information and public participation in the environmental protection. 7. Environmental Impact Assessment. 8. Legal regulation in the protection of waters. 9. Legal regulation in the nature conservation and landscape protection. 10. Legal regulation of the soil and forests protection. 11. International and European environmental protection. 12. Legal regulation of the waste disposal.

Learning outcomes
The purpose of the course is to provide with information about the Environmental Law in the abstract theoretical level and on selected spheres of valid law and on concrete practical cases as well. It also comprises historical, international and European consequences. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who will complete this course will gain the knowledge and skills to use special legal regulation of Environmental Law that they shall mostly meet in praxis.
Prerequisites
Study of this course assumes the capacity of the students to orient within the legal rules, individual studies of specialized periodicals and of the other recommended literature, and also the orientation in the basis terms of the Administrative law.

The course is finished by the written exam which can be passed if the student realize these conditions: - active participation at the seminars (max. 1 absence) - one seminar paper The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
