Content (themes): 1. International Private Law and European International Private Law (Introduction, Term, Sources) 2. European Judicial Area (Development of EU law on today's form of cooperation in civil matters) 3. Contractual and non-contractual obligations (term, introduction, scope) 4. Brussels Ibis Regulation I. (personal, material, territorial, temporal scope, civil and commercial matters) 5. Brussels Ibis Regulation II. (International jurisdiction) 6. Unitary Law - International Contract Law 7. Rome I Regulation I. (personal, material, local, temporal scope, contractual obligations - concept, term, choice of law) 8. Rome I Regulation II. - Determination of the applicable law 9. Rome II Regulation I. (personal, material, territorial, temporal scope, non-contractual obligations - concept, term, choice of law) 10. Rome II Regulation II. - Determination of applicable law 11. Brussels I Regulation (recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, relationship with other instruments) 12. Regulation of contractual and non-contractual obligations at the level of the selected EU Member States 13. Other Roman regulations and the relationship with the EU Member States

Learning outcomes
|
During the semester, students should become acquainted with the basics of (European) international private law in the field of contractual relations and acquire the basic theoretical knowledge and professional language terminology in this area. The course is focused both on the issue of procedural law, regulating the procedures and relations between courts and other bodies and parties, possibly other persons, as well as on the area of conflict of laws, which aims to determine the law applicable to contractual, respectively non-contractual obligations. The focus of the subject is the Brussels Ibis Regulation on jurisdiction and the recognition and enforcement of judgments and the Rome I and Rome II regulations governing the law applicable to obligations. The topics discussed will also include the issue of the European Judicial Area. V Olomouci dne 23. května 2013
Students will learn how to think/work and how to deal with cross-border obligations cases.

Student performance, Written exam
To obtain the colloquium it is necessary to attend the seminars to the extent set by the supervisor, to participate actively and to fulfill the duties set by the teacher for the given seminar.
