Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is - in a complex way - to acquaint students with legal issues connected to the migration in the EU. The course will cover both intra-Union migration and corresponding issues on the rights of persons from third countries (e.g. a family member of migrant EU citizen), as well as immigration to the EU with a focus on varying status of person coming to the EU (immigration based on the Association Agreements, EU and International asylum law, legal aspects of illegal entrance to the EU). The topics contextually presented during lectures will be in detail discussed in seminars during which students will deal with practical tasks and will work with EU, internal and national legislation as well as with the case-law of the EU Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights and Czech courts. The course is held in English.
Students who will complete this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the main principles the EU law and its implementation on national level.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.
