Lecture Topics: Notion and attributes of the human rights Evolution of human rights protection within the EC/EU Sources of human rights law in the EC/EU law Development of the fundamental rights doctriny in the case law of ECJ - human rights as general principles of law ECJ and ECtHR Case-law Relation between case-law of national courts and ECJ in the field of human rights. Learning outcomes
The course is a continuation of the obligatory course Constitutional Foundation of the EU and is aimed on deepening knowledge of the nowadays so discussed problem of European dimension of protection of human rights in European Union, including the relations between the jurisprudence of European Court of Justice and European Court for Human Rights. Selected judgments of Luxemburg and Strasbourg Courts and other relevant issues are analyzed. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to understand the features of law.

Students who want to complete this course must first successfully complete the previous courses.

Student performance

It is essential that those students who would like to get the credit must have attendance at these seminars, they have to complete the tasks assigned by the seminar leader and they must be successful at the written test. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
