Learning outcomes
The course complements the complex of courses within the third pillar of the study programme, within its level focused on the development of scientific skills and general competences of the student. It focuses, like the courses bearing the designation Scientific Activity in their title, on the development of the student's ability to present the results of his/her scientific research. Unlike these courses, which focus primarily on the student's ability to present research results in oral form at a scientific conference, the course focuses on the student's development of the ability to present results in written form in the form of prestigious scientific publications. A secondary objective of the course is the deepening of knowledge, since in-depth knowledge is a prerequisite for high-quality scientific work. The course is designed as a three-semester course and begins in the summer semester of the second year of study, when the student is expected to have already developed a certain level of professional skills and general competences that will enable him/her to produce a high-quality scientific publication. The course is intended for students of Legal History and Roman Law programme. Within each semester of the course, the student is obliged to choose a suitable topic for a scientific publication in the field of legal history and Roman law, to prepare it and to consult on it with his/her supervisor on an ongoing basis. After the approval of the prepared publication, the student is obliged to offer it for publication. To pass the course, the publication must be accepted for publication by a publishing house. The choice of the publication output is agreed between the student and the supervisor, but the implementation of the course assumes that it will be a scientific article acceptable in the Register of Information on Science and Research (RIV).
The student's ability to present the results of his/her research in written form in the form of prestigious scientific publications.
