|
As part of this course, the Ombudsman will be presented as one of the guarantees of a democratic legal order. Students will get acquainted with the relevant legislation concerning the Defender's powers (in particular the Public Defender of Rights-Act) and the Anti-Discrimination-Act). At seminars, students will be trained in the search of the published documents of the Defender and will be led to practice the formulating skills to differentiate the Defender's competence (that is, what he/she can solve and what not) and to write a complaint to the Defender or a certain Defender's note in response to a complaint according to the types of documents the Defender works with. Students will be offered an excursion to the Office of the Public Defender of Rights in Brno.
