Regulations of constitutional character in older times and the birth of modern Czech statehood in the 19th century (pre-enlightenment of constitutional character, birth of modern institutes, formation of the Czech statehood during the 19th century / Austro-Slavism, the program of the Czech historical state law movement, Fundamental articles, the concept of the new state during the World War I, etc.). 3. Austrian Constitution of the 19th century ( implementation of liberal and national requirements, the first Austrian Constitution of 1848, constitutional development in the second half of the 19th century, the constitution of 1867, follow-up legislation, etc.). 4. The birth of Czechoslovakia and the international embedding of the new state (domestic and foreign resistance - the Czech National Council, so-called reception rule, the Provisional Constitution of 1918 and its amendment, the international foundations of Czechoslovakia - conference in Versailles, the demands of the Czechoslovak delegation, the peace treaties with the defeated states as a part of the constitutional order of Czechoslovakia etc.). 5. The Constitution of 1920 (the authors of the constitution, inspiration sources, structure of the constitution, preamble, National Assembly and its competences, government and executive power, etc.). 6. The Transformation of the Constitutional System in 1989 - 1992 SEMINAR THEMES: 1.The Continuity of Czech statehood (introductory seminar, selection of papers, literature). 2.The Idea of Czech statehood and issues of state symbolism (ideology of the first Czechoslovak Republic, Czechoslovakia as a result of historical development, state symbolism of the Bohemian kingdom, lands of the Czech Crown and land symbols, legal regulation of state symbols in the origin of Czechoslovakia, changes in state symbolism during Nazi occupation, changes of state symbols after 1945). 3.Competences and status of the head of state (legal status of the head of state in the Danube Monarchy, competence of the president of the republic in the constitutions of 1918 and 1920, competence of the president of the republic in the constitutions of 1945 and 1960, the president as the "symbol" of the state - the perception of the head of state by the civil society, President Masaryk, the president´s office after 1945). 4.Constitutional anchoring of the so called fundamental rights, the issue of citizenship and the legal status of minorities (basic rights and obligations of citizens in the texts of the constitutions of 1867, 1920, 1948 and 1960, the genesis of the "basic" rights issue, the question of multinational Czechoslovakia in 1918-1938, the so called Minority St. Germain Treaty, the question of opting for citizenship, the concept of Czechoslovakism, the position of the German "minority", the situation after 1945, etc.). 5.Electoral Law, Elections, Representative Bodies (the development of electoral law in the 19th century, curial system, universal adult suffrage, electoral systems in the First Republic of Czechoslovakia, legal establishment of political parties in the interwar period, legislative power and its structure according to the Constitution of 1920, free elections as the basis of a democratic state: the elections in 1946 and the following years, etc.). 6.
