The course focuses on practical skills training, which teachers can use to improve the education of pupils with physical disability and illness. The aim of the subject is to understand the physical, psychological, social and special educational needs of this group of pupils, allowing students to perceive the need for application of special methods and individual approach to pupils. A deeper understanding of physical disability and illness also affects their attitudes towards this group of pupils and allows them to review some stereotypical expectations in their perceptions. From the practical point of view, the course will include training of arts therapies methods and their usage in the area of neuro-rehabilitation such as methods for training of movement (rhythmic auditory stimulation), communication (melodic-intonation therapy), cognitive functions and perception. The course will include also methods from the area of arts-based pedagogy that use artistic experience to facilitate adaptation problems, acquiring knowledge, training psychomotor skills, promoting social interaction, and other areas. The subject was created as a part of the project ?Inovativní vzdělávání učitelů spojením teorie s praxí (ITEP)?, reg. č. CZ.02.3.68/0.0/0.0/16_038/0006522
