The exercises in this course focus on deepening students' practical skills in working with adults with disabilities. Students will briefly learn about research methodology and working with case studies, which they will use to analyze needs and design interventions. They will also focus on the specifics of communication and interaction in professional relationships, social and health services, adult education, including support for students with specific needs at universities in the Czech Republic, and support for seniors and people in the terminal stage. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical model situations and reflection. The course ends with the development of a research project on a special education topic of the student's choice, its presentation to the class, and the opportunity for the student to consult with the instructor throughout the semester. Active participation in the course is required, with a maximum of two absences allowed. These requirements must be met in order to receive credit for the course.
