After passing this subject, students should be able to define issues in the psychology of work and have a good understanding of current socio-pathological phenomena at work. Topics : - Professional inclinations (in the sense of an initial selection at the end of primary school as well as a lifelong process of selections) - Developmental-psychological aspects in the process of selecting an occupation - Opportunities for help available to primary school pupils, when choosing their occupations - The subject of the psychology of work (the history of the psychology of work and the status of its current development) - The psychology of working environments (social, physical, organizational conditions in working environments) - Motivation at work (the theory of work motivation, contentment at work) - The burnout syndrome (definition and symptoms, professions with the most frequent occurrence, working conditions and the burnout syndrome, prevention and possibilities for help) - Addiction to work (workoholism) (typology, the workaholic in the role of a subordinate and a superior, the course of developing an addiction to work, bases for its occurrence and prevention) - Unemployment (psychological consequences, health aspects, the impact of layoffs on those who remain) - Employees with issues (employees requiring care, alcohol and drugs at work)
