Course content
Psychology - sources, subject, main directions, discipline system. Review of methods - principles and application possibilities. Temperament, cognitive processes, motivation and intelligence. Feelings - determination, meaning, emotional intelligence.

Learning outcomes
After passing this subject, students should have insight into the area of developmental psychology. They should be able to navigate the basic terminology as well as the characteristics of individual developmental periods. Topics : a) General psychology A brief introduction to the history of psychology, main trends in contemporary psychology, the system of psychological disciplines and their uses, methods (including practical training and illustrations). General characteristics of the psyche and its determination, the structure and dynamics of personality, content analysis of a personality -temperament, cognition, motivation and integration; feelings (emotional intelligence). b) Developmental psychology 1. The subject of developmental psychology 2. Developmental periodization (according to S. Freud, J. Piaget, Erickson) 3. Psychological methods of developmental psychology 4. The determination of a human psyche (biological and social) 5. Prenatal and perinatal periods (from the perspectives of mother and child) 6. The newborn, infant, and toddler periods 7. Criteria of school maturity 8. Younger school-age children (development of motorics, the development of cognitive processes, socialization, characteristic activities) 9. The period of adolescence (physical changes, secular acceleration, the development of cogitation, emotional development, socialization)
Students will be eligible explanations of terms and definitions from the field of psychology
