PRACTICAL PART (if possible) For those students, who are interested, it will be possible to visit chosen Czech primary school and prepare class activities for the kids. Students will get the opportunity to discuss the practice with class teachers and observe their work. This activity is conditioned by pandemic restrictions.

The course focuses on the main factors influencing the productivity of the educational environment in the context of the educational reality and current functions of the school reflecting the needs for 21.st century skills/key competencies development. The main topics to be discussed include competency based approach, factors building safe educational climate, positive interpersonal relationships among stakeholders and productive teaching and learning strategies including teaching as inquiry and reflective practice

Předpoklady
|
After completing the course, students will be able to specify the external and internal factors that influence everyday consciousness of educational reality. They will be able to distinguish between school productivity and school effectiveness and categorise outside and inside factors affecting the school effectiveness. Students will be able to explain the shift from knowledge and skills based education to education based on competency development, characterise positive school climate and advocate its benefits in the process of teaching and learning.

ASSESSMENT CONDITIONS Active participation in discussions during the course, continuous fulfilment of assigned tasks (oral or written), final test, optional school visit.
