After completing the course, students should be able to: - characterize basic perspectives, approaches to critical thinking (philosophical, psychological, educational) - describe critical thinking as a skill for the 21st century; - characterize basic educational procedures aimed at critical thinking; - defend ways of thinking through universal intellectual standards that students should rely on when making decisions and solving problems; - apply general principles of critical thinking, which are (according to D. Halpern) necessary for practical action and are associated with solving problems, making decisions and forming conclusions; - characterize the own sets of characteristics of a good critical thinker; - identify socially conditioned obstacles that can limit the development of these characteristics; - apply procedures aimed at developing students' critical thinking.
