Course content
1.Origin and development of pregnancy. 2.Birth, individual delivery periods/stages of labour, puerperium. 3.Examination methods in gynaecology and obstetrics. 4.Menstrual cycle and its disorders. 5.Sterility and infertility. Planned parenting and contraception. 6.Care for women after gynaecological and obstetric surgery. 7.Physiotherapy in gynaecology and obstetrics.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical tuition is focused on acquiring basic knowledge from the field of gynaecology, obstetrics and rehabilitation in gynaecology and obstetrics. The aim of the course is to give a comprehensive overview of the physiology and pathology of female and man reproductive organs, reproduction, treatment of sterility, investigation methods, preventive procedures in the field of early detection of oncological diseases in the reproductive organs and breasts. The course is focused on reproductive health and support for pregnancy, care for a woman in physiological and pathological pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium.
The student will be able to provide care to women during their reproductive health, before and after gynaecological and obstetric surgery. They apply theoretical knowledge in practice on the individual clinical departments. Furthermore, they will know the specifics among the various examination methods in gynaecology and obstetrics. They will also be able to identify the specific needs of women during pregnancy and after childbirth (early and late puerperium).
