Course content
Subject is drawn like theoretic- practical unit for midwife. A profiling subject. The aim of the subjekt is the instruction of students with characteristics clinical state and etiology, with appearances, symptomatology, diagnostics and single investigations. Irregularity and patology of the pregnancy, childbirth, and childbed, obstetric investigative method, obstetric operation. Midwifes diagnosis and intervention. Standard plan nurse care. Realization care according to the plan. Education of the patientnt - families. Evaluation of the achieved results of the health caret. Reservation of the continuum of the treatment and nurse care.

Learning outcomes
Obstetrics is a profile course for midwives. The course builds on the knowledge gained during the previous semestr. Basic knowledge and practical skills in obstetrics and midwifery are further developed. Second part of the study concerns diseases and emergencies during course of the pregnancy, obstetrical operations, complications during labour and puerperium and assessment of individual needs of the patient.
On the completion of the course, the students will obtain theoretical basics for later midwife practice, especially concerning antenatal care, labour and puerperium. Furthermore, students will acquire knowledge of risk and Furthermore, students will acquire knowledge of risk and pathological pregnancy and childbirth.

Basic knowledge of biology, chemistry, histology, embryology, anatomy and human physiology, knowledge of normal pregnancy and physiological birth

Written exam
