Psychology in the system of the social sciences. Ordering of psychological sciences. Biological determination of the psyche. Socio-cultural determination of the psyche. Basic psychical processes: gnostic, motivating, voluntary Emotivity. Personality. Basic patterns of the mental progress. Conditions of the mental progress. Individual deviations. Grades of the mental progress.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to teach basic psychological concepts and processes in the field of optometry; to explain the mental in terms of phylogenesis.
On completion of the course students will be acquainted with the basic psychological concepts; they will know basic psychological processes and developmental particularities of individual psychological processes; they will be able to apply their knowledge and skills in their clinical practice; and they will be better acquainted with the issues of individual developmental phases.
